I am getting a Jadelle implant on friday and wanted to know of anyone else who has got one and how it went. Do you notice it in your arm?

Jadelle, well I heard all the hype about it, being great for not getting pregnant and not having to take a pill. So I thought yeah,. why not! Give it a go. Ive been on it for 5-6 months now, and I'm really getting sick of my low ,sad, glumy moods I have:( not finding it much fun at all, unmotivated to do much as other users here have said. I don't have the bleeding issue, so maybe it affects my hormonal balance in a different way, unsure. But I'm more likely going to get them out I think. I will see smoothly removal goes eeek!.. Hopefully find a pill that works instead, and have bleeding.
I think and hope I'l be heaps happier!!...
Thanks for listening! And hope this helps someone out there..

Had it, LOVED IT, didn't even get my monthly while on it. :) was on it for about 2 1/2 years, yeah I could see it under my skin and feel it when touched, but after a week completely forgot about it and was easy to insert and removed fine. Would totally get it again after bubs #2.

I don't have one, but there was an article in the herald over the weekend that discussed the side effects that some women have had. I attach a link so that you can read it.

I have had my jadelle for 16 months, only last month I had 2 light periods that lasted about a week and nothing this month so far. I have not gained weight since having it put in, for some reason I've lost a little weight and have kept it off unlike the depo. I was on the depo for 5 years and had no periods at all but my weight was up and down, I'd lose 3 or 4kg then 12 wks later I'd get weighed at the clinic and find I've put it back on, 12 ks later I've lost it again. I had considered an IUD but my sister's one fell out and she got pregnant, she had heavy periods and said it must of fallen in the loo and she flushed it, that scared me knowing it could fall out or shift. Side effects vary from person to person using contraceptives. I am still happy with my jadelle

Worst Contraception ever. I would never recommend this to anyone. I had nearly every side effect you could think of including weird kicks as if I was pregnant. Its so awful!!

I had Jadelle put in around 7 months ago and i went from being 67kg to 91.6kg which is disgusting. I feel sick almost everyday after eating. Jadelle has also played with my moods and made me really upset often and leaving me having no motivation to go out and do anything. I hate this form of contraception and can not wait to be removed next week.

Hi there! I don't have babies but I do have the Jadelle implant. Got it at the end of March 2012 after being on Noriday for around 6 months, though I was warned many get the implant removed because of side effects. The insertion was fine and didn't hurt, but for about a week after my arm was very bruised and was very painful. But as this healed, the scar is tiny and the rods pretty much can't be seen.
No bleeding at all really for me, but I have noticed a change in my mood. I wouldn't say it's a depressed state, but very touchy, moody, angry at times and feeling unhappy and unmotivated. Am sure I have put on weight also.
Not 100% sure if it is the implant, but I'm fairy certain it is so I'm getting it taken out next week and will probably be put back on Noriday! I can't take the combined pill, and I'm not sure what my other options are...
Jadelle has been effective with preventing pregnancy, and my nurse told me that there is pretty much no chance that you'd ever get pregnant with the implant, but the side effects outweigh the benefits for me.

i've had mine for over a year now but am considering removing it. i had three to four months of spotting when it was first put in, then regular periods until december last year. i haven't had my period all year up til two weeks ago. i stuck out all the irregularities of bleeding, have found it harder to keep weight off, those things didn't bother me too much. i have been partial to feeling down through my teenage years and even a little after my children. now, with this implant, i am finding myself upset and crying, i wouldn't say describe it as a depression, but very sad. my mood keeps me home and from doing things i'd normally do. and my kids have noticed it the last few times. i'm having down spells more frequently almost once every week and hope that taking the implant out will solve that.
the side effects of the implant are different for different bodies. you won't really know yours til you try.
