I think there is also a midwife website, I can't remember exactly what it is, but you can find midwives through that.

It won't be as bad in Tok, but I know you need to get in as soon as you find out you are pregnant in Taupo, because they get booked out very quickly.

Oh & I think I was around 8-10wks when I went up first...They are brilliant there. There is one other MW there but I never had her at all. I spent 2 nights there & could have had another couple (was the only one in the maternity part which was lovely & peaceful :-), but thawt I should go home to my boys (DH & DS#1) so only had 2 nights up there.
Good luck & if you are living round here u can email me firstname.lastname@example.org & I'd love to meet up for kids to play, coffee etc :-)
Oh my real names Shannon :-)
Catch ya soon...

Hiya LISA :-) I still live in Tok...Just dont tell everyone haha.... I had my boy Reilly up there last July, my midwife was Christine Macmillan as well but I actually had Sister P most of the time & she was the one they actually called when I went into labour. So I had both of them for the birth. Like LITTLE PICKLE said it can be pretty quiet which is awesome cos the nurses would come & take baby at night so I could get a full 3hrs sleep, if he was unsettled they would sort him for me :-) They were fantastic & yes Sister P has been there since 1972!!!
Where are you living now????
