With the evening primrose oil it is mainly good for healing afterwards, especially if you have a tear! I don't think it's deisgned to bring on labour, even though I wish it did! i am due in 5 days but am over it. Showing no signs of labour either, show etc and I am starting to think the day will never come! :-(

I dont know if they worked for me. I started on both at 34 weeks and was having 4-5 rasberry leaf tea capsules a day, 6 evening primrose oil capsules orally a day and 6 epo internally a day from 37 weeks. went into labour on my due date and dd was born the next avo.

OH lol - for a moment there I was like EEP :) Had a friend with thrush who said to me once I've been eating lots of probiotic yoghurt but I've still got it - I'm like um you have to do a topical application - she stared at me and then said "But its strawberry flavoured!!" :D

I've actually taken myself off the RRL tea as I've had constant contractions from 28wks - ten weeks worth and as soon as I started the tea they pretty much dissappeared (so should've got on it earlier!!) - so we're thinking that I'm one for whom the tea acts as a calmer - which is good except I want to go into labour sometime soon!! Will get back on it as soon as bub turns up as I am unable to breastfeed and need to make my uterus contracts appropriately and it helps with that.

Did I read that right and you're using the raspberry leaf capsules vaginally?? You should be swallowing them or drinking the tea.

The tea is better than capsules as long as you use a good brand - as the health benefits are more readily available from an infusion - drink hot or cold - particularly good I found with blackcurrant cordial to sweeten and disguise the taste if you don't like it. Tea should be drunk from 36 weeks up to 5 cups a day.

Red Raspberry leaf has uterotonic properties - it make the uterus work more efficiently and hopefully make labour easier and help the uterus regain it's tone afterwards. It doesn't induce labour.

I have heard about this but since its my first pregnancy what exactly do you do/use or start. If it does no harm I would be keen to try.

I'm the same as ladybird, I took both but the primrose orally and both births were quick and natural and at 38 weeks.

I used both and it didn't help one bit.

I had a 36hour labor and my water would not break on it's own.

But was all natural and mostly drug free.
