How to clear baby's stuffy nose?

What would you like to talk about?

Hi all, I took DS to the doctor this morning as he has been a bit off and they said he has a viral throat infection so all they could give him was Pamol, he had a bit of a cough and a fever, now he has a stuffy nose and it sounds like he needs to blow it, his breathing is quite noisy and has that almost bubbly noise (sorry lol) and I don't know how to relieve it. He doesn't seem bothered by it but I don't want him to get all blocked up and not be able to breathe tonight.

Any help would be great!

Yeah that was my thinking behind it too, far too cold to be out of bed at the moment lol. Cool, I might have to look into that, he's miserable, anything to have my happy, playful baby back. Thanks =)

it's not naughty at all, it's perfectly sensible to bring them into bed with you. At least you're warm and comfy even if you don't get a lot of actual sleep.

Olbas oil can help clear the nose as well, sprinkle a few drops on a cloth and put it in the cot with him.

    Hope he's better soon.

Thanks for everyone's replies. As luck happened I couldn't find the saline drops for the life of me so he had to go without, he wouldn't settle no matter what we did, the second I wasn't touching him anymore it was all over, after 4 hours of trying to get him to go to sleep we put him in our bed (naughty I know), he woke up a few times coughing and having trouble breathing but as long as I still had a hand on him he was ok for the most part. We didn't get much sleep as we were checking on him all the time to make sure he was still breathing lol, but we made it through the night, got an unhappy little man today though, hope this passes soon.

    How did he sleep?

You can get an aspirator from the chemist that clears them pretty quickly. They generally don't like it tho.

I gave up on saline drops and went for spray, seems a bit brutal but it worked really well.
