I'm pregnant with Number 2 and unfortunately my MW is going to be away when I am due in April '13. Does anyone have any recommendations for a MW who is really qualified and a bit of a no-nonsense type? Also one who maybe does home visits? THANKS!

tashandbryan I had Marie for my first! She was fantastic, but is going to be away in April next year. Gutted. I have gone with Darryl Carrington who is also at Bay Midwifery, I meet her next week. Thanks for all the recommendations!

Gillian Sims. I have her now and shes a real sweetie but also pretty to the point. Because she is working as a private MW out on her own she only does home visits. Here's her website if your interested in checking her out: http://www.taurangamidwife.co.nz/

Vicky Muller is fantastic, had her 3 times, really good support and will back you up with whatever your wishes are. Lisa Mconie, had her once, is really good too, she was fantastic with breastfeeding support.
