False labour pains are irregular, the intensity doesn’t change, they do not get closer together and they are shorter.

You know real contractions when you get them. False Braxton Hicks Contractions can be uncomfortable but they are not anything like the real ones. Your real ones will start around your back and pelvis, like period pains and then move further up your tummy. Real contractions keep coming and get longer and stronger. If your unsure, wait 10-20minutes. If your having 3 strong contractions in 10minutes its REAL and ring the midwife immediately because baby is definatly on his way by then! Just stay cool, calm and collected and enjoy your pregnancy and time to yourself because once that baby out you won't have any time or space to even think about yourself!
