"That was a great read - thanks! I've breastfed all 5 of my children and had the odd blocked duct with each of them. Usually just the once so I'm sure you won't get it again. It is amazing how clever our babies are to help us clear the blockage up aye?"

As my daughter was late starting solids (almost 7 months), we played catch up trying to align her appropriate stages. Once she was 8 months, I was told she should be having finger foods and of course I panicked! How could I give this baby who was only just starting on slightly lumpy food big chunks to chew herself!? Especially when she certainly didn't want to touch any of it!

"What a reassuring story to share. I have 5 children and all but my youngest took a lot longer to get into solids. They preferred Mum's milk and it took ages for them to want chunky food or finger food - probably closer to 12 months. And you go to Plunket and they give you this sheet of all the foods they should be eating at a certain age that is way off for my babies."

"Hey kristen, as a mum who had a baby on 'hungry baby' formula - I wouldn't recommend it at all. We had our DS on it as he seemed super unsettled etc... and we were told to try it, massive mistake as he got so constipated on it, which I've now found out is common. DS is now 5.5 months old, and we've finally been diagnosed with silent reflux. He seemed hungry all the time and was super unsettled. Luckily here in Hamilton we have the Waikato Family Centre, where you can walk in off the street with your screaming baby and they will get you sorted!Have you taken him to GP? What formula do you have him on?? Could you try distracting him? Taking him outside, for a walk etc to string him out between feeds??"
Hi everyone. I would like some ideas as to how to get my little man into a routine during the day for his day sleeps. He has had a real rough start to his life being in SCBU for the first 2 weeks of his life

I found the best thing was to let our baby girl set her own routine, it is hard to start, but they are more comfortable and content i believe, I have had no problems with sleep as we started this around your bub's age.
So it may work for you, as we know every baby has their on ways!
My gorgeous baby girl was born with congenital hypothyroidism. this condition is from her not being born with a thyroid gland.
Is there anyone else out there like us????

"hi im mady from the philippines.. Our Daughter have the same case my daughter also has congenital hypothyroidism and taking levothyroxine since her first month.. The doctor told me that we really need to monitor her thyroid stimulating hormone that's why she is always having blood test.. It's very hard for me to see my daughter crying everytime she's having a blood test in the hospital.. =( I've never been heard about the congenital hypothyroidism ever since in my life but I don't have anything to do because she really needs to be tested also for the doctor to know the result and adjustment of the dosage of her medicine.. I am really hoping and praying for my daughter .. I will also pray for your daughter.. =)"
