Food, food and more food!
On Monday the 20th of June, Jamie had night shift. I was really sick with morning sickness and didn't feel like staying home alone for the night so I got Jamie’s dad, Gary to take me back to their house for a few nights. I went to bed that night feeling crampy , I woke at about 11.30pm with what i thought where Braxton hicks.
As the doctor prepared to give me an Epidural I felt this huge push surge through my body, before I even had a chance to look at the midwife she said "No need for that Epidural" and away I went..

"Wow, that's awesome to read! Someone needs to write a childrens book about this type of coming into the family, like they do with regular births and adoptions.
Well done! I had always wanted to breastfeed but my son had alot of trouble latching on and due to his size was a very hungry baby, I couldn't keep up with him wanting to feed every hour. I managed 2 days before I was exhausted and his starving cries got to much. Hopefully my next baby will be easier and I'll be able to do it."
I made a wish and you came true. You are my tiny precious gift from God that I was told I'd never have. While your time growing inside of me was amazing, you weren't so good at the coming into the world part. I'm writing this letter to let you know that mummy loves you more than life itself.

"oh that is gorgeous - bought a tear to my eye"
When I was pregnant with my first child Joseph, I didn't spend any time preparing for breastfeeding, other than I knew it was something I wanted to do. I was more concerned about choosing the perfect name, packing the hospital bag, and buying baby necessities more than I was about having a breastfeeding plan ...

"I tried Breast feeding my baby but felt to uncomfortable doing it so stopped . now my baby is piling on the weight with formula. shes 17 days old and drinkds 150 mls. my mum had to ask the midwife whether you could over feed a baby but there is no way you can do that."
If you have your heart set on breastfeeding, but your baby can't, expressing and bottle feeding EBM is an option.

"I couldn't breastfeed because I had flat nipples, something I never realised before! I expressed and bottle fed from the beginning, and kept trying to breastfeed using nipple shields, but just couldnt get it to work. I didnt mind too much as bottle feeding meant dad could do it too, but the expressing got too much for me and I stopped a week ago after 5 weeks and now just on formula. It was a hard decision as you just want the best for your little one, but I'm glad I did as I was really struggling and now I feel I have a more time and energy to enjoy my baby and play with her. I havent seen any difference in her with being on formula, I feel I gave her a good start and my advice to anyone would be just dont put too much pressure on yourself and do what is right for you. Breast milk is great for your baby, but so is a rested and happy mum! :)"
why is it that newborns wait till you're least prepared to wee?
