I had always wanted to breastfeed but my son had alot of trouble latching on and due to his size was a very hungry baby, I couldn't keep up with him wanting to feed every hour. I managed 2 days before I was exhausted and his starving cries got to much. I expressed and bottle fed from the beginning, and kept trying to breastfeed using nipple shields, but just couldnt get it to work. I didnt mind too much as bottle feeding meant dad could do it too, but the expressing got too much for me and I stopped a week ago after 5 weeks and now just on formula. It was a hard decision as you just want the best for your little one, but I'm glad I did as I was really struggling and now I feel I have a more time and energy to enjoy my baby and play with her. I havent seen any difference in her with being on formula, I feel I gave her a good start and my advice to anyone would be just dont put too much pressure on yourself and do what is right for you.
