With only two months to go, your body will be preparing for birth and you may be experiencing pains in your back, hips or groin. This is due to what is often called pelvic relaxation, where your ligaments and muscles slacken in order for the birth canal to expand more easily. Now is also a good time to prepare mentally for the birth by giving some thought to your ideal birth scenario, and or creating a birth plan. Although a lot of things are out of our control, it can be helpful to consider the different issues that may arise, and make your preferences known to your LMC. This week your baby’s lungs are developing, and she may even be practising her breathing by moving her chest in and out.

Birth can be an unpredictable process, and it's important to take the time to consider the options available to you.  We get the experts to share their top tips.
