Baby name predictions 2018
At Little Treasures HQ we realise that we are only one month into the new year, but that doesn’t stop the predictions of the top baby names of this year flooding the interweb.
Already there has been a celebrity baby name announcement early this year; Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West announced to the world of social media the name of their new daughter, born by surrogate, as ‘Chicago West’. A fun and unusual choice and if we are honest, we're a fan!
This year the world will witness the arrival of the new little royal, confirmed by Kensington Palace to be due in April, and it's no surprise that names are already being speculated. Will they choose another traditional name for the line-up? Prince George and Princess Charlotte are names that have been inherited, selected from their ancestry of past royals. What will be next? Perhaps Alexander, Charles, Victoria, Elizabeth?
Zara Phillips’ baby is also due this summer, three months after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child. Their little girl is called Mia, a beautiful name. We can’t wait to hear what they name their newborn!
If you’re expecting, you have probably had a list of names from the start and you might have a few favourites. Often the hardest part is finding a name that you both agree on. You might have a fond family member who you want to incorporate into the middle name, or you may love a celebrity trend.
Naming your little one can be a big challenge and you don’t want to have any regrets. It’s worth considering what their nickname will be, will they have one? What will their initials spell out? What will their friends at kindy and throughout life call them?
To give a little inspo if you’re feeling a little undecided, Babycenter.com have selected a list of names that they predict will be popular in 2018.
We love Riley for a girl and Mason for a boy! What do you think? Don’t forget to comment below!
