Ingredients250 grams butter½ cup sugar¼ cup condensed milk1 teaspoon vanilla2⅓ cups self-raising flouranimal cookie cutters
Royal icing1 packet Queen Royal Icing Mixwaterfood colouring
Preheat oven to 180°C. Line baking trays with baking paper. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, add the condensed milk and vanilla and beat until combined. Mix in the flour until it forms a stiff mixture.
Roll dough out between two sheets of baking paper and cut out with cookie cutters. Place biscuits on trays about 3cm apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Cool on wire racks before icing.
Make up as per the packet instructions. Beat with water until thick.
Divide between three or four different bowls and colour with food colouring. Spoon into piping bags fitted with #4 piping nozzle.
Pipe a line around the edge of the cookies and leave to dry. When dry, mix remaining icing with a little more water so it’s slightly runnier, then spread inside the piped lines on the cookies and leave to dry.
